Well, it turns out once again that no success in the world is accidental. The history of the company began in 1853, when Engelbert Hausmann, a hereditary merchant, left Germany for the Netherlands and settled in Amsterdam. In 1860, William Hote came to him, with whom they joined forces to bring to the Netherlands, where so far there is not a single puzzle and game, a selected collection. This was followed by an expansion in the direction of Messano metal constructors, dolls and balls, as early as 1920.
In 1930, the company included a wooden elephant, which appeared under the name Jumbo. This is how the brand Jumbo and the elephant appear, which is its symbol. After World War II, card games and board games developed. Ludo and Electro followed, and in 1958 Jumbo began his own production of puzzles. In 1964, the company bought the rights to sell the Varbie doll to the Netherlands. In 1980, a series of puzzles by Jan van Haasteren was born, followed by road games, then mobile apps and so on - more and more surprises for children and parents!
