What happens to the masks after the 30th wash?
The masks have a waterproof outer layer, which is in top efficiency up to 30 washes. Like membranes, masks also remain waterproof, even after the recommended 30 washes, but the water permeability of microscopic water droplets is no longer as good. The inner layer of the mask continues to act as a bacterial inhibitor (restricts the growth of bacteria) for a much longer time, until about the 150th wash.
